What has to be shown

The e-commerce act asks for these to sit somewhere a customer can find easily, which in practice means the footer.

• Trade name
• Name of the representative
• Business address
• Phone and email
• Business registration number, issued by the tax office
• Mail-order registration number, issued by the local district

The two numbers are not the same

The business registration number comes from the tax office. The mail-order number comes from the district where the business sits. They must not be merged into one line. A site that sells nothing does not need the mail-order number.

What should not be there

VAT is a European idea and does not belong on a Korean site. If that wording drifts into a Korean app, our check catches it.

Common questions

Does a site that only introduces my business need this? If you sell nothing, the mail-order number does not apply. The trade name and contact details are still worth showing. If you are unsure, ask a professional.

Where do the numbers come from? Business registration is done at the tax office; mail-order registration at your district office. Both can be started online through the government portal.

Can I open before the numbers arrive? You can build now. Do not put placeholder numbers in as if they were real. When the numbers come through, you change those slots and nothing else.
